Afghanistan 1878-80, no clasp (B/640 Cr. Sgt. J. Bayne, 66th Foot) good very fine and a rare casualty to a senior NCO

Colour-Sergeant W. Bayne was killed in action at Maiwand 27 July, 1880. Sergeant-Major Cuppage and four Colour-Sergeants, including Bayne, were the most senior NCO’s of the 66th to be killed at this disastrous affair.
