Distinguished Flying Cross, G.VI.R., the reverse officially dated 1945, together with case of issue and named Buckingham Palace letter; Distinguished Flying Medal, G.VI.R. (635318 F/Sgt., R.A.F.); 1939-45 Star; Air Crew Europe Star; Africa Star; Defence and War Medals, very fine (7)

D.F.M. London Gazette 9 July, 1943, Flight Sergeant William Henry Goodridge, No. 419 (R.C.A.F.) Squadron. The following information was extracted from official records: ‘Flight Sergeant Goodridge has taken part in a large number of operational sorties against targets in Europe and the Middle East. His operations include attacks against Berlin, Hamburg, Essen, Kiel, Stettin and Munich as well as Naples, Tripoli and Benghazi. His tenacity, keenness and devotion to duty over a long period of operational flying have been worthy of the highest praise.’

London Gazette 16 February, 1945, Flying Officer, D.F.M., No. 75 (N.Z.) Squadron. The following information was extracted from official records: ‘This officer has participated in a large number of operational missions. Since the award of the Distinguished Flying Medal, Flying Officer Goodridge has continued to display outstanding technical skill, the utmost determination to engage the enemy and unfailing devotion to duty which have been worthy of high commendation.’
