D.C.M. London Gazette 1 January, 1919; details 3 September, 1919, “His work both in action and behind the line was at all times of the highest order. He has been in every action in which the regiment has taken part and has invariably performed his duties with the greatest efficiency. Notably near Hamel during March, and east of Amiens in August 1918. He showed great coolness, gallantry and utter disregard of personal danger when attending to and evacuating wounded horses and his extreme keenness and devotion to duty were most marked.”
