William Thomas Cutler Rust was born in June 1874 and educated at Owens (Brewers Company) School. He served in the ranks of the Middlesex Regiment during the Boer War, subsequently receiving a commission into the Army Service Corps. Rust commanded the 27th Divisional Train, Army Service Corps in Salonika, receiving the D.S.O. for his services there. Sold with copied research detail, including Boer War service papers.
