Five: Major The Honourable H. Lygon, Suffolk Yeomanry

1914-15 Star (Lieut. Hon., Suff. Yeo.); British War and Victory Medals (Capt.); Coronation 1911; Italy, Order of St Maurice and St Lazarus, 5th class breast badge, gold and enamels, this with some damage to green enamel, otherwise good very fine or better (5) £400-450

Major The Honourable Henry Lygon was born on 10 April 1884, the youngest son of the Right Hon. Frederick Lygon, sixth Earl Beauchamp. He was commissioned into the Suffolk Yeomanry in 1907, and during the Great War served with this regiment as well as the Royal Flying Corps and the Intelligence Corps, in France, Belgium, Italy and the Balkans (wounded). He was gazetted Major in the Territorial Army Reserve of Officers on 2 October 1919. Sold with further biographical detail.
