Fife Mounted Rifle Volunteers, an extremely rare officer’s shoulder or pouch belt plate to the unit raised in 1860 under the command of Major The Earl of Rosslyn, the large rectangular silver plated back plate mounted with a gilt reeded saltire, upon this in silver plate the Thane of Fife in silver plate, at the top in gilt ‘IX’ being the county precedence number granted upon formation, two hooks and two studs to the reverse, the plate dirty but in very good overall condition (1) £300-400
