Royal Humane Society Case 31832 (Joseph Badland, Schoolboy aged 12). ‘On the 3rd February 1902, Edward Clough, aged 8, fell through the ice on a pond at Baildon, near Shipley, Yorks. The break took place 5 yards from the bank in deep water. At great risk, Badland went in and was successful in saving him.’
