Harold Alfred Hunter Christie was the son of Sir William Christie, K.C.B., the distinguished Astronomer, and great grandson of James Christie, the Auctioneer. Harold Christie was commissioned in the West Kent Yeomanry, 1911, and served in the Great War in Gallipoli 1915, Salonika 1916-17, Palestine 1917-18, and France 1918. He was wounded whilst serving in Palestine 1917. He retired in 1934 but served at the Air Ministry 1940-42 as Squadron Leader, R.A.F.V.R., becoming entitled to the Defence medal. Called to the Bar in 1913, Christie became a distinguished Barrister and Queen's Council and was, from 1949 to 1953, vice-chairman of the General Council of the Bar. He died on 23 October, 1960, at the age of 76. Sold with extensive research.
