A Great War group of four to Private George Bishop, Royal Marine Light Infantry, who participated in the ballot for the award of the Victoria Cross granted for the Zeebrugge Ostend operations

Sold with original parchment Certificate of Service which show that he took part in the attack on Zeebrugge on 22/23 April, 1918, and that he 'participated in ballot for award of Victoria Cross granted for operations against Zeebrugge and Ostend on the night of 22nd to 23rd April 1918 (London Gazette 23rd July 1918).' His Certificate of Service also notes that he was issued with a duplicate Great War trio in October, 1923.
