M.C., London Gazette, 22 June, 1918. 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When in command of a raid on a hostile strong point, he and his party of twenty men captured thirty-seven prisoners and three machine guns, and inflicted severe casualties on the enemy. His conduct and leadership were most gallant throughout.' Sold with copies from the Regimental History giving a full account of the operations on the Reutel Sector, Passchendaele Ridge.
