QUEEN'S SOUTH AFRICA 1899-1902, no clasp (6847 Pte.); 1914-15 STAR (L-6847 Sjt.); BRITISH WAR AND VICTORY MEDALS (C. Sit.); DEFENCE MEDAL; ARMY L.S. & G.C., G.V.R. (Sjt.) together with recipient's identity disc, nearly very fine or better
Charles William Gibson enlisted on 10 January 1901 and served in St. Helena during the Boer War with the 3rd battalion. During the Great War he served with the 3rd battalion until invalided home in 1915 to the 6th battalion. From December 1915 until November 1919, Gibson was attached to the West African Frontier Force (Nigeria Regt. and Gold Coast Regt.); after which he joined the 5th battalion.
