Fus.); BRITISH WAR AND VICTORY MEDALS, M.I.D. (Major); INDIA GENERAL SERVICE 1908-35, 1 clasp, Malabar 1921-22 (Maj., R. S. Fus.); 1939-45 STAR; DEFENCE AND WAR MEDALS; JUBILEE 1935; CORONATION 1937; France, LEGION OF HONOUR, 5th class breast badge in silver and enamels, the central medallions in gold and enamel; France, CROIX DE GUERRE 1914-18, with bronze palm, the group mounted for display, generally very fine or better (14)

Robert Victor Galbraith Horn was born in 1886, and educated at Charterhouse and R.M.C. Sandhurst. He entered the Royal Scots Fusiliers in 1905 and served with them in France and Flanders during the Great War. He was four times mentioned in despatches and awarded the D.S.O., O.B.E., M.C. and Legion of Honour, 5th class. After the War he went to India and served in the Malabar Rebellion 1921-22. He was promoted Major in 1925, having held the Brevet rank since 1917; Brevet Lieutenant Colonel 1928; Lieutenant Colonel 1931; Colonel 1931; commanded 2nd Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers 1931-34; Assistant Quarter Master General, Scottish Command 1934-38; retired pay 1938; Assistant Adjutant General at the War Office 1939-40; in command Anti-Aircraft Command, April- November 1940; D.A. and Q.M.G. of an Anti-Aircraft Corps till September 1941; with the B.B.C. 1941-43. Brigadier Horn died in London on 11 July 1959.
