United States of America, SILVER STAR, named on the reverse (C.E. Ernst) sold with original War Department letter, dated 17 Jan. 1946, addressed to the recipient giving notification of the award and full citation for gallantry on 21st February 1945 near Valpino, Italy, while serving with the 10th Mountain Division, very fine
