INDIAN MUTINY 1857-58, 1 clasp, Defence of Lucknow (John Higgins, 84th Regt.) small edge bruise, otherwise good very fine

John Higgins was present at the first relief and throughout the second defence of the Residency and was killed in action at Lucknow on 22nd November, 1857. This was the final day of the defence, on which the besieged garrison was at last evacuated, the unfortunate Higgins being one of the very last casualties.
