Donough Carroll was born on 15 July 1907, son of Brigadier-General J. W. V. Carroll, C.M.G., D.S.O. He was educated at the Oratory School and R.M.C. Sandhurst. Commissioned in the Army in September 1927, he was promoted Lieutenant in November 1927 and appointed to the Indian Army, 10th Baluchistan Regiment. Sold with further research.
