A Great War C.B.E. group of three awarded to Lieutenant-Colonel G. E. N. Booker, commanding 1st & 4th Reserve Regiments of Cavalry, late 5th Dragoon Guards

The Order of the British Empire, C.B.E. (Military) 1st type, neck badge; Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 1 clasp, Cape Colony (Lieut., R. of O.); British War Medal (Lt. Col.) together with a small silver medal, named and dated ‘8th July 1924’, minor enamel chip to the first, otherwise good very fine (4) £240-280

George Edward Nussey Booker was educated at Westminster School and Exeter College, Oxford. He joined the 5th Dragoon Guards in 1887, and served in South Africa 1899-1900, attached to the Remount Department on the Lines of Communication. Commanded 1st & 4th Reserve Regiments of Cavalry 1914-19 (C.B.E.).
