The Royal Victorian Order, C.V.O., neck badge, the reverse officially numbered ‘C40’; Jubilee 1887, silver, with bar, 1897; Coronation 1902, silver; Chaplain’s Badge, E.VII.R., silver-gilt and enamels, together with miniatures of the Jubilee and Coronation medals, named certificate for the Coronation medal, and Warrants of Appointment for the M.V.O. 4th Class and C.V.O., these with their accompanying letters of appointment both signed by Sir Dighton Probyn, V.C., generally very fine (6) £300-350

C.V.O., 22 August 1902: The Reverend Canon Frederick Alfred John Hervey, M.V.O., Domestic Chaplain abd Librarian to H.M. at Sandringham.

M.V.O. IV, 28 May 1901: The Reverend, Chaplain in Ordinary to H.M. Queen Victoria.

Frederick Alfred John Hervey was born on 18 May 1846, son of Lord Alfred Hervey. He was educated at Marlborough, and Trinity College, Cambridge (M.A.), ordained deacon in 1869, and priest in 1870; Curate of Putney, 1869-76; Rector of Upton Pyne, Devon, 1876-78; Chaplain in Ordinary to Queen Victoria; Rector of Sandringham, 1878-1907; Domestic Chaplain to King Edward VII, 1902, till his death on 8 August 1910.
