Five: Corporal T. C. Kraseman, Royal Fusiliers
Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 5 clasps, Cape Colony, Tugela Heights, Orange Free State, Relief of Ladysmith, Transvaal (3313 Cpl., 2nd Rl. Fus.); King’s South Africa 1901-02, 2 clasps (3313 Pte., Rl. Fusiliers); 1914-15 Star (717 Pte., R. Fus.); British War and Victory Medals (SR-717 Pte., R. Fus.); together with two R.F. collar badges; and an interesting quantity of original documentation, including, Account Book; Attestation Certificate; transmission slip for 1914-15 Star; a typescript letter written by recipient to a friend whilst on active service during the Boer War, inscribed ‘F. Company, 2nd Bn., Roy. Fusr., Bronkhorstspruit Oct. 1st 1900’; and two letters and other documentation apparently liberated by Kraseman from a Boer, generally nearly extremely fine (5) £250-300
Thomas Charles Kraseman was wounded at Ladysmith on 25 February 1900. During the Great War he re-enlisted into his old regiment and was killed in action at Gallipoli on 6 June 1915. He is buried at Twelve Tree Copse Cemetery.
