James Bush was born in London in 1864, and enlisted at Bow Street in April 1878, joining the 46th Regiment at Bodmin on 22 April. He served in Egypt from December 1882 until June 1886. He received his L.S. & G.C. medal with £5 gratuity in March 1898 and was discharged at Newry on 3 May 1898. He died at Plymouth, aged 81, on 23 May 1945.
