Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 1 clasp, Defence of Ladysmith (Lieut. C. S. Platt, 5/Drgn. Gds.) nearly extremely fine £280-320

Cecil Sherman Platt was born in August 1877 and educated at Eton. He joined the 5th Dragoon Guards from the Militia in November 1898, serving with them first in India and subsequently during the Boer War in Natal and Ladysmith. He died of enteric on 5 January 1900 at Ladysmith and was buried at Intombi Camp. Sold with confirmation.
