Major E. Burrell served in the Afghan War as D.A. Quarter Master General with the Koorum division, including the Zaimusht Expedition and the assault of Zawa (mentioned in despatches, medal). Served in the Egyptian War of 1882, and was present at the battle of Tel-El-Kebir (medal with clasp and Khedive's Star). Major Burrell retired in 1886.
