INDIAN MUTINY 1857-9, no clasp (Ensign M. Furlong, 47 Regt. M.N.I.) renamed in upright capitals; ROYAL HUMANE SOCIETY, bronze medal (Ernest O'Bierne Furlong, 16th Novr. 1868) complete with bronze ribbon buckle, very fine or better (2)

Colonel Malcolm Furlong was present at the capture of Copul in 1858, and with the Bellary Moveable Column in 1859 (medal). He died at Bournemouth on 7th April, 1931, in his ninety second year. Ernest O Bierne Furlong was awarded the Royal Humane Society Bronze medal for saving the life of Thomas Dodd who had fallen into the water at Aukland, New Zealand.
