WATERLOO 1815 (Corp. Duncan M'Grigor, 42nd or R.H. Reg. Infantry) fitted with replacement bar suspender engraved 'Peninsula', several edge bruises and contact marks, otherwise nearly very fine

Duncan McGrigor enlisted in the 73rd Foot in August, 1789 and served with them until January, 1793. Between November, 1799 and July, 1802, he served with the Breadalbane Fencibles. At the age of 40 years he re-enlisted for service, this time with the 42nd Highland Regiment of Foot, in June, 1811. He was discharged on 28th June, 1820, worn out and subject to rheumatism. He was severely wounded in action with the enemy at Quatre Bras on the 16th June, 1815, in the left leg.
