A fine Médaille Militaire group of six to Colour Sergeant E. F. Hobbs, Royal Marine Light Infantry.

1914-15 STAR TRIO (P09900, Col.Sgr., R.M.L.I.); NAVAL LONG SERVICE AND GOOD CONDUCT, G.V.R. (Col.Sergt., R.M.L.I.); NAVAL MERITORIOUS SERVICE MEDAL, G.V.R. (Cl.Sgt., R.M.L.I., 'Corfu' services during war); France, MEDAILLE MILITAIRE, enamel chipped on the last otherwise good very fine (6)

These two awards were for services on the island of Corfu whilst Colour Sergt. Hobbs was attached to the French Fleet as part of the International Force which was detailed to relieve the troops from Salonika. The Royal Marine Guard was quartered with the Allies in the fort at Corfu under the command of Major Home.
