ORDER OF THE INDIAN EMPIRE, C.I.E., 2nd type breast badge in gold and enamels with gold suspender bar, centre back plate lacking from reverse; INDIA GENERAL SERVICE 1854-95, 1 clasp, Burma 1885-7 (Lieut., 25th Bo. Inf.); BRITISH WAR and VICTORY MEDALS (Lt. Col.); JUBILEE 1897, silver; CORONATION 1902, silver; CORONATION 1911; Italy, ORDER OF THE CROWN, 4th class breast badge in gold and enamels; Serbia, ORDER OF THE WHITE EAGLE, 4th class breast badge with swords in silver gilt and enamels, the group court mounted, good very fine (9)

George Frederick Chenevix-Trench (1859-1937) was educated at Winchester and Sandhurst, and entered the Army in 1879. He served in the campaign in Burma in 1886 and was promoted Captain, 1899, and Lieutenant-Colonel, 1905; British Joint Commissioner at Leh, 1891; Consul-General at Khorassan and Seistan, 1901-2; Political Agent at Zhob, 1903-10; he retired in 1910 and was created C.I.E. in 1911; served during the 1914-18 war as a Base Commandant (Crown of Italy and Serbian White Eagle).
