JELLALABAD 1842, 2nd Flying Victory issue (James Simpson, 13th Foot) officially (?) impressed naming, fitted with scroll type suspender, contact marks, very fine

James Simpson, Bugler, was present at Jellalabad and Cabul, 1842. In his 'Annotated Roll of the 13th L.L in the 1st Afghan War' D. C. L. Gosling states that 'His Jellalabad (F.V.) medal is in a private collection in England. It is a late issue, and [the late] W. P. Dawson said that it was the medal described by Gordon (1962, p. 162).
