China 1857-60, 2 clasps, Taku Forts 1860, Pekin 1860 (Thos. Robinson, 1st Dragn. Gds.) officially impressed naming, claw tightened/refixed, edge bruising, very fine £300-360

Thomas Robinson was born in Stafford. A Shoemaker by occupation and a member of the Staffordshire Militia, he attested for the 1st Dragoon Guards at Edinburgh on 11 ? 1855, aged 21 years. With the regiment he served 7 years 4 months in India and 9 months in China. Having attained the rank of Corporal in August 1866, he was tried and reduced to Private in October 1868. He was discharged in Manchester in October 1878 having completed his second period of engagement. At the time of his discharge he was in possession of the above medal and four Good Conduct Badges. With copied service papers.
