Portrait Miniature on Ivory of an Officer on the Half-Pay or Unattached c. 1830-40, the small oval shaped portrait (5.5 x 4.5 cms) shows the officer wearing a double breasted scarlet coatee with gilt epaulettes and buttons, stand-up blue collar this with thin corded lace strips terminating in gilt buttons, the sitter wears the Waterloo Medal and his hair style suggests the period 1830-40. Now laid down on card and covered with a gilded brass frame stamped on the reverse ‘I. Price, Birmm.’ Complete with loose glass cover and contained in a rectangular moroccan bound case, very good condition £300-500
