The Manchester Regiment, 3rd Volunteer Battalion Officer’s Blue Cloth Helmet c. 1888-1901, a very fine example of blue cloth helmet with silver plated fittings overall, the helmet plate of crowned eight pointed star pattern with laurel and Garter overlays, in the centre on a ground of black velvet the arms of the city of Manchester with a double scroll below ‘The Manchester Regiment, 3rd Volunteer Battalion’, internally in very good condition plus retailer’s gold blocked label for Hobson & Sons, evidence that this is not the first helmet plate used, very good overall condition £600-800
