Three: Private R. Peet, 11th Battalion Rifle Brigade, killed in action, France/Flanders, 18 September 1916

Richard Peet was born in Maghull, Lancashire; lived in Seacombe, Lancashire and enlisted at Wallasey, Cheshire. He had been employed as a Painter and Decorator in the employ of of Mr T. W. Weale, of Egremont and was a member of the Glendale Football Club. Serving with the 11th Battalion Rifle Brigade, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 21 July 1915. He was killed in action in France on 18 September 1916. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
