Patrick Manson Rennie, who was born in Hong Kong in 1888, was commissioned Lieutenant in the Indian Medical Service in November 1907. He served as Medical Officer to the 1st Battalion, 5th Gurkha Rifles in Gallipoli, gaining a mention in despatches (London Gazette 28 January 1916, refers), and afterwards in the Third Afghan War; his India General Service Medal, clasp ‘Afghanistan N.W.F. 1919’ was sold at Spink & Son, 29 June 2007 (Lot 211). Rennie was advanced to Lieutenant-Colonel in 1926 and placed on the Retired List in 1928; sold with brief copied research.
