William Murphy was born, lived and enlisted at Cork. Serving in the 1st Battalion Royal Munster Fusiliers, he landed and was killed in action in Gallipoli on 25 April 1915. He was buried in V Beach Cemetery. With copied Q.S.A./K.S.A. roll extracts; m.i.c. and casualty details. Was additionally entitled to the 1914-15 Star trio of medals.
