George Henry Dean was Mayor of the Borough of Loughborough, 1938-40. Appointed a Justice of the Peace. As an Alderman he was admitted as a Freeman of the Borough of Loughborough in 1951. As a Colliery Deputy of Granville Colliery, he was awarded the B.E.M. in the New Years Honours List of 1963. Alderman Dean was awarded the M.B.E. in the Birthday Honours List of 1966 for his political and public services in Loughborough. With copied gazette extracts and other research.
