18th Century, Middlesex, Middlesex, Political and Social series, The Uncharitable Monopolizer, 1800, a bronzed-copper medalet by J.G. Hancock, man’s head trying to swallow the world, rev. open hand dropping coins into other outstretched hands (DH 239; BHM 497). Brilliant and practically as struck, most attractive; perhaps the finest specimen available to commerce (£800-1,000)
