Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, undated reverse, 1 clasp, Suakin 1885 (G. R. White, Sto., H.M.S. Condor) some edge bruising and contact marks, very fine £140-180

George Richard White was born in Dorchester, 20 September 1860. He enlisted into the Royal Navy as a Stoker 2nd Class on 17 July 1883. Serving on H.M.S. Condor, December 1883-September 1887, he was promoted to Stoker in January 1884 and served in the Suakin 1885 expedition. White was promoted to Leading Stoker in March 1892 when on H.M.S. Collingwood and Leading Stoker 1st Class in April 1893 when at H.M.S. Victory II. He was discharged in August 1903 and joining the Portsmouth R.F.R., was discharged on 20 September 1910. With copied service details and a copied photograph of H.M.S. Condor.
