David Peter Druce was born in Longueuil, Quebec, Canada. He joined the British Army on 10 January 1951. Flying to Hong Kong in February 1952, he joined the 7 R.T.R. as a ‘Mechanic’. Entered Japan on 2 January 1953 and flew to Korea on 13 January to join 1 R.T.R., returning to England in October/November 1953. Served with 4 R.T.R. at Fallingbostle as part of the BAOR, September 1954-July 1956. Discharged on medical grounds on 18 September 1963. Lived in Grand Maisons Road, Guernsey. Did reserve service with 513 Field Squadron 111 Engineer Regiment. With a newspaper cutting re. Major Henry Druce - an S.A.S. officer of the Second World War.
