Joseph and John Rowan were brothers, born in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire.

Joseph Rowan enlisted at Victoria, British Columbia on 4 October 1915. Serving in the 4th Battalion Canadian Pioneers, he was killed in action in Flanders on 23 August 1916. He was buried in the Ridge Wood Military Cemetery, Belgium. His nex of kin was John Rowan of 17 Bond Street, Wolverhampton. With copied census and other research.
