2nd Lieutenant Edwin Weston Bell Sturrock, 1/3 Scottish Horse Yeomanry, attached 13th Battalion (Scottish Horse) Black Watch, entered Egypt in June 1916. He was invalided from Salonika in December 1916 and arrived in England in May 1917 suffering from right cardiac dilation following dysentery and was treated at the Ashton Court Hospital, Bristol. At this time his home address was “Rockard”, Wormit on Tay, Fife, Scotland. He is listed in the Dentists Register of 1929 as having first registered on 20 July 1921, possessing the degree L.D.S. (St. Andrews, 1921) - his address at this time was given as ‘G.W.R. Medical Fund Society, Swindon’. With copied m.i.c. and other research.

Medals to Slater attributed to Lieutenant John Alfred Slater, Scottish Horse, who entered the Mesopotamia theatre of war in December 1916. Note: other officers with these initials and surname in the Army List 1918. With copied m.i.c.
