Private Jesse Webber, 11th Hussars entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 15 August 1914. Later served with the Tank Corps. Wounded 27 August 1918. Was a Staff Serjeant at Bovington Camp. In 1925 he left the service and took up a civilian appointment with the Military Experimental Engineering Establishment, Christchurch. He was in charge of the motor transport section of that establishment for 26 years and was awarded a B.E.M. for his services and retired in 1951. He died at the age of 65 at his home in May 1952. With m.i.c., copied gazette extract and other research including photocopied group photographs. Entitled to clasp to 1914 Star.
