Alfred William Overy was born in 1886 and enlisted at Birmingham on 16 March 1906. Serving in the 1st Battalion Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 21 August 1914. He was discharged due to wounds on 16 September 1915 and awarded the Silver War Badge.

With Discharge Certificate and Character Certificate, copied m.i.c., S.W.B. roll extract and service notes. Clasp to 1914 Star confirmed.
