Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, 2 clasps, Tel-El-Kebir, The Nile 1884-85 (1694 Pte. F. Ward, 2/D. of C.L.I.) edge bruising and contact marks, nearly very fine £200-240

Francis Ward was born in Tadmarton, near Banbury, Oxfordshire. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for general service at Banbury on 14 March 1881, aged 19 years, 11 months. Posted to the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry, he served in Gibraltar, October 1881-July 1882; Malta, July 1882, and Egypt, July 1882-June 1886. Transferred to the Army Reserve in September 1886 and discharged on 13 March 1893. With copied service papers and roll extracts.
