William Henry Large, a native of Bedminster, Bristol, enlisted in the Rifle Brigade at Winchester in November 1883, aged 18 years, direct from the 3rd (Militia) Battalion, Royal West Surrey Regiment. Posted to the 1st Battalion, he was present in the Burma operations of 1887-89 (Medal & clasp) and was discharged in November 1896; sold with copied service record and medal roll verification.
