Army of India 1799-1826, 1 clasp, Nepaul (Thos. Keen. 17th Foot.) short hyphen reverse, officially engraved naming, toned, edge bruising and contact marks, otherwise nearly very fine £1000-1200

Thomas Keen was born in the Parish of Wanborough, Swindon, Wiltshire, and enlisted into the 40th Foot on 24 July 1799. Whilst stationed at Minorca he attested for the 17th Foot on 25 February 1802, being then aged 22 years, and served with the regiment in India from December 1804 until May 1823, seeing service in the Nepaul campaign of 1814-16. He was discharged at Chatham on 22 July 1823, due length of service. Sold with copied discharge papers.
