At Waterloo, Gunner William Hind served in Lieutenant-Colonel Gardiner’s “E” Troop Royal Horse Artillery. During the early stages of the battle the troop, being attached to Vivian’s Light Cavalry Brigade was situated on the far left of Wellington’s line.
