Mary (1542-1567), First period, Testoon, 1556, type IIIa, mm. crown on rev. only, small high-arched crown above shield, no annulets in field, no stops after dates, 6.18g/3h (SCBI 35, 1005ff; SCBI 58 312ff; B 7ff, fig. 786ff; S 5405). Reverse with crowned thistle countermark for the 1578 revaluation, about very fine, toned £300-400
