Emperor seated left on curule chair set on decorated platform; in front, Liberalitas standing left, holding abacus and cornucopia; behind, lictor standing left; to left, citizen mounting steps, 9.17g (RIC 579; C 140). Obverse about fine or better but a little porous, reverse good fine, rare £100-150
The reverse shows Severus distributing largesse to the citizens of Rome. The legend records it as the fourth such ceremony, dated to 229
