George Nixon, a Potter from Staffordshire, attested for the 29th Regiment in September 1833. He first attained the rank of Serjeant in August 1839 but was several times reduced for drunkenness, finally being promoted to Serjeant once more in March 1854, he was discharged in October 1854, being unfit for further service. He had spent over 12 years of his service in the East Indies. With copied service papers.
