Lance-Corporal William H. Softley, 2nd Battalion Welsh Regiment, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 13 August 1914. Served in the 3rd Infantry Brigade, 1st Division, in Haig’s I Army Corps. Softley was discharged due to wounds on 24 November 1915 and awarded the Silver War Badge (not with lot). With copied roll extract and m.i.c. clasp confirmed.
