Private Lewis P. West, Coldstream Guards, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 12 August 1914. Served in the 4th Guards Brigade, 2nd Division, in Haig’s 1 Army Corps. Was involved in the action at Cotterets, near Crepy, 1 September 1914. Later discharged. With original medal card box of issue; identity disk; M.I.D. emblems and silver rosette; also with copied m.i.c. - clasp confirmed; M.I.D. not confirmed.
