M.M. London Gazette 15 March 1945:
‘In recognition of gallant and distinguished services in the field.’
An accompanying copied newspaper report from the Aberdeen Weekly Journal states that John Fraiser was awarded his M.M. in respect of gallant deeds at Salerno. A native of Craigellachie, and formerly a gardener at Orton House in Morayshire, ‘he served abroad for three years and was in Greece, North Africa, Sicily and Italy.’
